About Me

I am a 5th year PhD candidate in Mathematics at Stanford University, where I am fortunate to be advised by Prof. Madeleine Udell and Prof. Lexing Ying. My research focuses on developing efficient and safe optimization methods with applications in machine learning and large-scale scientific computing.

Research Interests

My research lies at the intersection of optimization, machine learning, and numerical linear algebra. I am particularly interested in:

  • Safe AI and Constrained Learning: I am interested in enforcing complex hard constraints on neural network outputs to ensure safety and validity. I have worked on developing a constraints repair layer that guarantees neural networks satisfy domain-specific constraints.

  • Optimization Algorithms: I develop adaptive methods for improving convergence in optimization. My projects include online learning-based adaptive stepsizes for gradient-based methods, and randomized preconditioning techniques to accelerate interior-point methods for large-scale quadratic programs.

  • Scientific Computing: I work on enhancing Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) through advanced optimization techniques. My focus includes accelerating the training process and improving the accuracy of numerical solutions for partial differential equations.

  • Randomized Numerical Linear Algebra: I work on scalable randomized algorithms for computational efficiency. This includes developing randomized low-rank approximations for solving large-scale linear systems and variance reduction techniques for randomized trace estimators.

I am passionate about developing theoretical insights that lead to practical algorithms that can be applied to real-world problems in machine learning and scientific computing.
